Developed in France, SUBTICS is used to search for, detect, identify, track, target, and destroy surface and subsurface contacts.

In recognition of its central role in submarine warfare, the book describes how SUBTICS is employed by the crew of the Scorpène-class boat, KD Tunku Abdul Rahman, as the steel shark persecutes an incoming task group of warships.
