Update to Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) website

Good to see the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) website refreshed on Tuesday 20 December 2011 with information on rebranded air force squadrons. The revamp is commendable.

But the website team should watch out for typos, especially those that can be caught by a spell check. Poor QC affects the credibility of the platform and messaging.

See if you can spot the glitch by clicking on the image above.

I know it's neither easy nor straightforward because this blog has its fair share of typos and grammatical errors. Get another pair of eyes to proof read information before anything goes online.

If website information is intended to tell our air force's side of the story during an infowar, the presentation and text must be top notch.

See how the experts do it here.

Don't let your IOs down.

Hey how about a wishlist for the SAF in 2012?

I'll start:

(1) More public interaction/education on SAF special ops task force functions;

(2) A Code of Ethics for SAF Officers; and

(3) Less blame on the SAF for training incidents and more focus on recovery and stabilisation.

FYI The RSN can't even deliver a clear idea of the Navy Museum's location or even existence on its website.

Hi CJ,

Did you email the site admin to let them know, or is this another one of those "one-way" sites which the government agencies push out on a routine basis?

Hi,
Have informed one of their IOs. I'm not sure who updates their website.

But the response rate is painfully slow. Imagine if this is a real op and the website needs to correct a wrong casualty figure or whatever and the glitch sits there for weeks.

Happy New Year,

David

Hi CJ,

Maybe shd just drop the website admin an email and see how long they take to reply and response by amending the issue i.e. simple spell check. =P

Hi,
I doubt the RSAF website admin fellas work on Public Holidays... email also no use. They are not quite 3G yet unlike other parts of Team RSAF.

Cheers,

David
