Any comments on this story from Pioneer April 2012?
Particularly this line --> "The current hotel was built in 1926 as the administration building of the British Far East Command Headquarters, and it was here that its commanding general officer Lieutenant-General Arthur Percival surrendered Singapore to the invading Japanese forces in 1942."

aiyah David, u beat me to it! i wanted to write in to correct them haha, however i must comment that the write up on Cheryl Fox's father in the commentary section was very inspiring... we could use more of those men in the SAF.
ReplyDeleteWow David, you're an eminent authority who relies on reputable defence sources.
ReplyDeleteWhy you still read this thrash?

ReplyDeleteCan I ask for my 50 cent payment for the Pioneer be refunded?
ReplyDeleteTypo error, I guess. It probably meant: "it was here that its commanding general officer Lieutenant-General Arthur Percival [made the decision] to surrender Singapore to the invading Japanese forces in 1942.". Visit BattleBox for the real drama re-told.
